Shiraz Rug: A Persian Tribal Work of Art
This authentic Shiraz rug, originating from ancient Persia, is a sublime expression of nomadic craftsmanship. Hand-knotted with expertise using hand-carded wool, it features a cotton warp that ensures robustness and durability over time. Its texture is rich, and the pile, approximately 1 cm thick, offers a pleasant feel to the touch. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, testifies to the fineness and attention to detail.
The design is a magnificent example of tribal art, characterized by an all-over pattern with large stylized rhombus medallions and smaller geometric motifs harmoniously distributed across the deep red field. The predominant colors, such as deep red, beige, various shades of brown, and accents of dark blue, are obtained with natural dyes that sometimes create slight variations in shade (a phenomenon known as abrash), adding character and authenticity to the piece. This rectangular rug is not just a furnishing element but a piece of history and culture, capable of bringing warmth and a unique atmosphere to any room.
