Bidjar Persian Rug: A Robust Work of Art
This magnificent Bidjar rug, originating from Persia, is a superb example of the ancient textile tradition of this region. Renowned for their exceptional durability and robust structure, Bidjar rugs are often referred to as "iron rugs".
Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, this piece features a density of approximately 400,000-450,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.4 cm, attesting to its high quality and resilience. The design is characterized by three large geometric hexagonal medallions, placed in succession along the field of the runner. These medallions, in warm shades of terracotta red and burgundy, stand out beautifully against the cream/ivory background.
